15/365 - St. John here we come!

We had an early morning start for the Atlanta airport for our trip to St. John USVI!!  Let me add that it was a week long, kid free vacation!  We piled 6 people and tons of luggage into an SUV and made it there in time for our first drink of the trip... got to love fruity drinks at 9:00 am!  I hate flying, so it was a little stressful for me, but we watched "Life as we know it" on the plane and it was great.  After we landed we headed to baggage claim and then to get our rental car.  The line was SO long.  I think we were in line for about an hour and it had only moved a quarter of the way.  We then found out that we had to leave St. Thomas in order to get the car barge over to St. John and we only had an hour to get there.  I would guess we had at least two hours left to wait in line.  So, I asked the sweetest couple if we could jump in front of them in line.  I am so thankful for nice people!  When I got up to the counter the lady told me they did not have our Explorer we had reserved, but we could have a Taurus!!  We could barely fit 6 of us and our luggage in a Tahoe in Atlanta!  Well, we ended up with a mini van :(  Everyone has told us to make sure we had a vehicle that is up off the ground with 4 wheel drive... not a mini van.  Best we could do though.  So, we made it just in time for the car barge and headed for St. John.  I think there are 3 car barge companies and we ended up on the Roanoke... aka the slow-anoke!  We finally made it and we were escorted up to our villa in the dark.  We were very worried about the fate of the "mini" for the rest of the week... but we made it and the villa was amazing!!!
